Required Documents, Pick-up and Rental Conditions
You will need to present your physical ID card or Passport, a valid driving licence accepted within the European Union, and a bank card (credit or debit) in the main driver’s name to handle the payment and the corresponding deposit.
It depends on the vehicle category. For scooters, the minimum age is 19. For basic cars (Group B), it is 21. For premium, automatic, or electric vehicles, the age requirement rises to 24, 26, or 28 depending on the specific model.
For scooters, we require between 1 and 3 years of experience (depending on engine size). For basic cars, we require a minimum of 3 years of driving experience on your licence, and for premium cars, up to 4 years of experience is required.
Yes, you can add up to 2 additional drivers to the contract. The cost is €4.50 per day per driver (VAT included), although some of our rates already include this for free. Please remember that only the people officially registered on the contract are authorised to drive.
These terms are often confused, but they are not the same. The Deposit (or pre-authorisation) is a temporary hold of funds on your card as a guarantee, which is released when you return the vehicle in the same condition.
On the other hand, the Excess is the maximum amount you would be liable to pay for damages in the event of an accident. The key difference is that one is temporarily held money, while the other is your maximum liability limit.
This depends on the rate you choose. If you choose the “Base Rate”, we will block a deposit equal to the car’s insurance excess. If you opt for the “Premium Rate”, the required deposit is drastically reduced (between €150 and €400, depending on the model), giving you much more peace of mind.
We accept payments by credit card, debit card, or cash. However, please note that even if you choose to pay in cash, we will always require a valid bank card to hold the mandatory security deposit.
If you cancel more than 96 hours in advance, we will refund your money, deducting only a €25 administration fee. If you cancel with less than 96 hours’ notice, no refund will be issued (except in fully documented cases of force majeure).
No. If you decide to return the vehicle before the agreed date on your contract, no refunds are given for the unused days.
Our Basic Rate (CDW) includes mandatory insurance and Third-Party Liability. However, it comes with an Excess. This means that if the car is damaged, you are responsible for the repair costs up to the limit of that excess.
By booking the Premium Rate, you eliminate the damage excess (it acts as fully comprehensive insurance) and minimise the deposit we block on your card. It is the preferred option for a worry-free holiday.
Yes, for the sake of total transparency, no insurance covers acts of negligence, such as:
- Lost, broken, or water-damaged keys.
- Damage to the undercarriage, alloy wheels, or tyres caused by driving on unpaved roads, dirt tracks, or beaches.
- Putting the wrong type of fuel in the car.
- Theft of personal belongings left inside the vehicle.
Our main office is located just 2 minutes from Mahón Airport (Carrer de Curniola, 32, POIMA, Mahón). In addition, we have 15 other offices spread across the island for your convenience.
If you provide us with your flight number when booking, we will monitor it and hold your reservation for up to 2 hours after your arrival. Even so, it is crucial to notify the office as soon as possible by calling +34 971 57 37 40 to prevent the booking from being cancelled as a “no-show”.
Generally, there are no extra charges for collecting the car late due to a flight delay, provided we have been informed. If you do not let us know, the reservation may be cancelled without the right to a refund after the waiting period.
Yes, at our Airport office (POIMA) we offer out-of-hours collections (from 22:00 to 00:00) with a late-night supplement of €35. The absolute maximum waiting time is midnight (00:00).
We offer a 15-minute grace period from the return time stated on your contract. If you exceed this time, the system will automatically charge you for an extra day’s rental.
Yes, but you must inform us before your current contract expires and obtain our written authorisation, paying for the extra days at that moment. The deposit currently on hold cannot be used to pay for extensions.
It’s very straightforward: like-for-like. You must return the car with the exact same level of fuel as when it was given to you (full/full, half/half, etc.). If fuel is missing, you will be charged for the missing litres plus an additional refuelling service fee.
The same rule applies: you must return it with the same battery percentage. If charge is missing, you will be billed for the missing percentage plus a recharging fee. Please note that the loss or damage of the charging cable will be charged according to the manufacturer’s official rates.
No. Unless you have express written authorisation from Autos Valls, this is strictly prohibited. If you take the car out of Menorca, your insurance will become invalid, and you will be fully liable for all generated costs, including the vehicle’s repatriation.
No. Driving on unpaved roads, beaches, or dirt tracks is strictly forbidden. Our cars are exclusively for use on asphalt roads. No insurance company covers damages sustained on unpaved roads, so any damage to the vehicle’s undercarriage caused by breaking this rule will be entirely the driver’s responsibility.
Smoking and transporting animals in our vehicles are not permitted in order to guarantee hygiene for future customers.
Roadside assistance for mechanical breakdowns is included, but it does not cover flat tyres/punctures. In this event, you will need to change the tyre yourself using the provided tools, or cover the cost of the tow truck service according to the current rates.
You must fill out the amicable Accident Report form, file a police report if necessary, and hand everything over to us within a maximum of 48 hours. If the other driver refuses to sign or there is a disagreement, you are obliged to call the police so they can file an official report.
The loss, breakage, or water damage of keys is not covered by any insurance. You will have to pay for the cost of a new key (which varies by model), the recoding, and the call-out fee for our team to bring you a spare copy.
If we receive a traffic fine in your name, we apply a €30 administration fee to identify you to the authorities. This charge does not include the cost of the fine itself, which remains your responsibility to pay.
It is not mandatory to wash the outside of the car if the usage has been normal, but it is highly recommended to give it a quick rinse if it is very dirty or muddy to avoid extra charges. It should be returned in a presentable state, similar to how it was received.
However, if you return it with extreme dirt (excessive sand, wet upholstery, a smell of smoke, or tree resin stains), we will have to apply an extra special cleaning charge of between €50 and €150.
Our insurance policies exempt you from responsibility for theft (total or partial) beyond the excess amount, but it is absolutely essential that you hand over the original, untampered car keys to us, along with the official police report.
Yes, we have extra accessories available that you can add during the online booking process. We strongly recommend requesting them well in advance to guarantee their availability.
